Over 500k EUR Raised, The Ancients’ Rift Unlocked, Partners Credits & Next Steps

Esteemed Pilots,

What a thrilling end rally: After the initial campaign goal was reached in a brilliant final sprint on the last day of the Kickstarter, the first stretch goal “The Ancients’ Rift” was also unlocked only 22 hours later, only minutes before the campaign ended. We are absolutely overwhelmed by the passion and confidence you’ve shown, and we are well aware that this is not to be taken for granted nowadays, so we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all supporters once again – seriously, we mean it from the bottom of our hearts.

We’re so excited because we can now develop EVERSPACE 2 as planned with close connection with our community and – as promised – release it first on Steam Early Access in September 2020. We think our friends at Valve will like that, too.

Speaking of which, we wouldn’t be here without our partners who are involved in the development process of EVERSPACE 2 and who helped to spread the news about our project on special events and online as well. So, today’s vlog is mostly about giving credit where credit is due and have our contributors say a few words to you, our superfans, who put their money where their mouth is to make EVERSPACE 2 become true the way we envision it:


Next Steps

We are now in the process of taking care of those cases where payment did not go through yet, so nobody will miss out on their reward, and are also preparing to set up backer roles on our Discord server, which is of course closely linked to the former. The first set of hi-res wallpapers is also in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for that – you want to make your desktop look spacy, right?

Now, we know that many of you can’t wait to get your hands on the EVERSPACE 2 convention demo. The team is feverishly working on fixing a few bugs and making this early prototype build run smoothly on a reasonably broad range of PCs by adding a first set of graphics options and also reducing the GPU-load of those fancy new shaders, that make space look even prettier than before. Due to the recently introduced GDPR, we can’t use MailChimp for sending out keys anymore, so we have to come up with our own solution, preferably without getting blocked when sending out some five thousand emails, of course. If things go as planned, you should have your prototype keys in your inbox around mid-December.
